This Privacy Policy explains how Apply Gita Wisdom ("we", "us"), operating the AI Gita Mentor at ai.applygitawisdom.com and app.applygitawisdom.com (the "Service"), collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account data: your name and email address — provided directly or via Google Sign-In (Google shares your name, email, and profile id with us).
Conversation data: the messages you send to the mentor and the responses generated, so we can provide continuity (memory) on paid tiers.
Usage & device data: pages visited, referral source, approximate usage counts, and standard log/cookie data used to keep you signed in and to understand traffic.
Payment data: processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your full card details — we retain only transaction identifiers and subscription status.
Assessment band (optional): if you take an associated assessment, the resulting band may be stored to personalise guidance.

2. How we use it

To provide and personalise the mentor, including memory of your practice on paid tiers.
To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
To process subscriptions and payments.
To improve the Service and understand which sources send us seekers.
To communicate important service or billing notices.

3. Third-party processors

We share the minimum necessary data with trusted processors who act on our behalf:

Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI — to generate responses, embeddings, and transcriptions. Your messages are sent to these providers to produce answers.
Google — for sign-in and, for admin uploads, file storage.
Razorpay — for payment processing.
Railway — our hosting and database provider.
Meta — conversion measurement (e.g. registration), where enabled.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Cookies

We use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in, and may use analytics/measurement cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser; signing in will set the session cookie again.

5. Data retention & your rights

We keep your data while your account is active. You may request access, export, or deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. Deletion removes your account and conversations, except records we are legally required to retain (such as billing/tax records).

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Children

The Service is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
